I am in my third year at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and am majoring in biology with an emphasis in healthcare science and a minor in political science. I love all aspects of science and want to specialize in either dermatology or plastic surgery. I was first introduced to the world of medicine when my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 8 years old and I was further drawn to medicine when I attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine my sophomore year of high school. There, I stayed at the University of Chicago for 10 days, watched a live video stream of a knee replacement surgery and got to go to the cadaver lab at Rush Medical College. I hope to one day change people’s lives and make a positive impact on them through medicine.
